Card 12 of 12

The little embellishments I've been using are actually made up of three layers of the same image, joined with pieces of foam tape to give a 3D effect.  I managed to get the layers apart so I could add a couple of magnets to form the closure for my card.

Woohoo!  Twelve cards done and the challenge is complete!

There's a little story behind this card fold....
A lovely lady named Barbara found a card that she really wanted to try on a disused blog.  After emailing the blog owner with no success, she dropped me a line with a link (click here if you're interested) to see if I'd ever seen a fold like it, which I hadn't.  There wasn't a lot of information to go on, but together we managed to figure out something that we thought looked like the original.  Enough for us anyway!

Card 11 of 12

Today I felt like playing around with card folds and came up with this triple joy fold card.  It's your common garden-variety joy fold, but with a little extra piece on the front!

Eleven down, one to go!

My Personal Challenge

Card 10 of 12

I was in the mood for soft and pretty today, and thankfully I found the perfect papers to fit my mood.  A string of pearls and a birthday stamp finished the card off nicely.

Ten down, two to go!

Card 9 of 12

I created a patchwork background for this card using a 11/4" square punch and some pretty paper off-cuts from one of my earlier cards.  I stamped over the top for some added interest and then added my little sticker embellishment.

Nine cards down, three to go!

Card 8 of 12

I'm not sure why, but the colour scheme of this card makes me think of rockabillies and those fabulous pin-up girls with their bright red lips and 50's style skirts!  This is my favourite card so far...

Eight down, four to go!

Card 7 of 12

I was going for something a little more masculine today... but I'm not sure that the bird with the crown will quite cut it with the boys in my family!

Seven down, five to go!

Card 4 of 12

I made a simple gatefold card today, and used the little sticker embellishment to decorate a belly band that holds the two sides of the card closed.

Stamps: Stampin' Up

Card 3 of 12

Straight lines, multiple frames and lots of layers are features of today's card.

Three down, nine to go!

Card 2 of 12

The twelve little embellishments I'm using for this personal challenge remind me of pretty postage stamps, which inspired me to create an envelope-look for today's card using floral papers and part of a die cut.

Two down, ten to go!

Card 1 of 12

Here's the very first card I created using one of the embellishments from yesterday's post.  I matched it with some pretty seam binding ribbon and a stamped sentiment that I cut apart and adhered to the side.

One down, eleven to go!

When the Mojo Won't Flow...

We've all found ourselves in the position where our creative energy is flagging and the mojo has all but dried up, and not even the prettiest papers and dies can get us in the mood to craft.  When this happens to me, I usually turn my attention to something else and wait out the creative dry-spell, but I started to wonder if there was something else I could do.  Perhaps setting myself a personal challenge was a way to break the drought early?

Fortunately for me, my lovely mum-in-law gave me these beautiful embellishments as part of my last Christmas box.  The gorgeous 3D stickers feature lots of wonderful design elements and fabulous colour combinations that I love to work with.  Since I know I'm going to need lots of cards throughout the year, I decided to set myself the challenge of creating 12 cards by the end of the month, each using one of these embellishments as the focal point.  Wish me luck!

New Release: Sweet Easter

With Easter just a few weeks away, it's well and truly time to make a start on all those wonderful holiday cards and projects.  Today's digital stamp set features two bunnies, a delicious stack of colourful eggs and five Easter-themed sentiments.  Like all Beccy's Place digital sets, this one comes with both black and white line drawings as well as full colour images for quick card making.

Sweet Easter Set

I'm so excited to release my very first set of digital papers!  There are ten different designs in the set - five patterned and five solids - that coordinate with the Sweet Easter Digital Stamp Set.  My super fabulous designers have been working with both the papers and the stamps to produce some wonderful projects to help inspire your Easter crafting.

Sweet Easter Digital Paper Set

Design Team Projects
Today's projects are full of gorgeous pastel colours that are perfect for Easter and spring.

Anesha created this fabulous Easter basket, lined with straw, and ready to be filled with lots of yummy chocolate eggs.  What child (or adult for that matter??) wouldn't appreciate such a lovely basket to hold their Easter goodies?

She also made a fabulous matching card using a couple of the digital papers and some dies.  This time, she coloured the bunny in a lovely light shade of grey.

Anesha's final project is this awesome scrapbook page featuring her adorable cat, Princess Skipper. Anesha printed the green patterned paper onto a large, textured piece of cardstock to get a great background for her project.  The digital papers are designed at 12" x 12" to ensure they are suitable for resizing in all sorts of paper crafts.

Carla created this fabulous Easter card using one of the rabbits from the digital stamp set, along with the Easter egg pattered paper.  She added some pretty yellow buttercups and a strip of green grass to give a wonderful spring-feel to her project.

Christine has made these two fabulous cards using all the different patterned papers from the Sweet Easter Digital Paper set.  She has die cut and layered mats beneath the images and also added lots of beautiful ephemera to add texture and interest. Christine always does such a wonderful job colouring the images, with fun, interesting and vibrant palette choices, I always look forward to opening her design emails!

Judy combined two of the images in the digital stamp set to create this fabulous card of one very over-worked Easter Bunny!  I had to chuckle when I first saw it... this is what I look like when I'm standing in my laundry among the piles of washing that have to be done each week.  I'm sure you can all relate!

These two wonderful tags were created by Karin.  She kept the colours soft and pretty by reducing the intensity of the black lines around the images.  You can do this at home by printing the line drawings in grayscale or by increasing the brightness of the image.

Petra has used the new Easter papers and stamps to create a card that could be used for a birthday or the arrival of a new baby... now that's getting the most out of your supplies!  She added some beautiful hand stitching to the top and bottom corners for a wonderful framing effect.  The sentiment flag finishes her project perfectly.

A.J. has taken us down the path of mixed media with today's project.  She created this fabulous card by printing and hand-colouring the rabbit image before scanning it back into the computer to use with four of the digital papers.  Fabulous!
