New Release: Gnomes In My Garden

I am so happy to be releasing this set of images today, I just love these little guys and had so much fun drawing and colouring them.  They actually started out as little Santas, but as their beards grew longer and their hats stretched taller I just knew that I was looking at a wee donsy of gnomes.

New Release: Stanley In The Rain

I just love Stanley... he's fun to draw and fun to colour (if I may say so myself).  Today he's all dressed up for a walk in the rain and perhaps, if he's lucky, the odd puddle splash too!

Tutorial - Flap Fold Card

I had a great time making this card and ended up with quite a few in my card basket ready to send to friends and family.  They are relatively easy to make, once you get the hang of where everything is supposed to go, and can be used for just about any occasion.

1.  Start with a piece of card stock measuring 111/2" long by 4" wide.

2.  Lay the card stock horizontally on your score board and score at 21/2" and again at 7".  Fold your card along the score lines, pressing firmly with a bone folder for nice sharp creases.

3.  Use a border punch or die to add a little decorative edge along the top flap of the card fold if desired.
Using either a large circle punch or a circle die, cut a circle directly over the fold between the top and middle sections of the card.  The size of your circle will depend on the size of the image you want to add.  I used a circle die with a 3" diameter.

4.  To decorate, you will need a piece of patterned paper measuring 41/4" high and 33/4" wide, an image or sentiment cut in a circular shape at least 1/4" smaller than the window you cut in step 3, and any other embellishments you wish to use to complete your card - I added a sentiment, some ribbon and some scalloped mats.

5.  Lift the small top flap of the card and adhere the patterned paper to the section underneath.  Apply some adhesive to the back of the bottom half of your circle embellishment and secure it over the edge of the patterned paper.  Try to centre it within the window.

6.  I added a piece of ribbon around the top flap of the card and finished it with a double bow.  My sentiment is added with some foam tape, and doubles as a closure for the card.

7.  Your card is now complete!  Here's what it should look like...

New Release: Wild Rose Set

A couple of years ago we were visiting family in the U.S. and decided to spend a few days at a tourist ranch in Montana.  Since I'm not really much of a horse rider or cow wrangler, I decided to take my camera and go on a little stroll through the beautiful wooded area behind the cabins.  I was thrilled to discover an abundance of wild flowers including gorgeous wild roses that were blooming everywhere.  Although they were mostly white, I couldn't resist using one of my favourite colour schemes to create this new set inspired by my afternoon in the woods.

Wild Rose Set

Wild Rose Digital Paper Set

My design team have created some truly beautiful projects with this set.  Some are delicate and feminine, while others are bold and filled with fabulous, rich colours.

This is Christine's final design team card, and as you can see, it too is filled
with gorgeous, vibrant colours that are a trade mark of Christine's work.

Judy has created a beautiful card using a doily background and a dainty, double lace border.  After printing out one of the sentiments from the set, she die cut it on a long strip and bordered it with a matching piece of cardstock.  The addition of the satin bow and the pretty butterfly finish the card perfectly.

This beautiful card was created by Karin, who used a number of die cuts to complete her project.  The pretty pink scallop around the image panel and the sweet, heart-shaped cut out with the butterfly really give a feminine feel to her card.  She has also done some fussy cutting to give a little more dimension to the image.

Petra created two amazing projects with this set.  The first is a beautiful, vibrant card with a wonderful shaped edge that she achieved with a set of nesting dies.  She mirrored the shape of the outer edge with a piece of patterned paper from the digital set.  Petra's second card is a gorgeous study in hues of yellow and brown.  What a beautiful way to send autumn greetings!

Anesha's beautiful card features lots of interesting design elements for a lovely, feminine project.  She has a dainty scalloped border that has been lightly distressed to lift it from the card base.  The hints of gold card throughout the project give a rich, warm feel that works beautifully with the dark pinks she used to colour the image.

These two beautiful cards were created by Carla, who coloured one image in shades of pink and another in yellows.  Both cards have fabulous die cuts and beautiful embellishments that add lots of texture and dimension to the finished project.  The raw chipboard on the second card is a wonderful accompaniment to the ferns and flowers, giving the card an air of "secret garden".

The final card I'm sharing with you today has been created by the lovely Annie Sharland, the newest member of the team.  Annie has layered up several of the patterned papers from the digital set to create her beautiful background and a frame for the image, which she coloured in dark pinks and greens.  The inside of her card features a sweet little pocket to hold a gift card.
